Course content
Social work´s theory base and value base. Social work and modern society. Special social services for minorities, social exclusion. Legal and policy frameworks. Social work, poverty and welfare rights. Social work practise and families at risk. Social work practise and vulnerable children. Social work practise and alcohol and drug problems. Social work practise and people with disabilities. Social work practise and homeless and old people. Social work practise and asylum seekers and refugees.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming), Work with text (with textbook, with book), Methods of individual activities
  • Excursion - 10 hours per semester

Learning outcomes
The objective of the course is to introduce the students to social work´s theory base and special social services for marginal groups.
The students will enhance their knowledge in the field of Social Work with marginal groups.

Active participation in seminars and during an excursion. Seminar paper and its presentation.
