Course content
Education as a social phenomenon, socialization, education. Educational influences, pedagogy and its sub-disciplines, the postmodern concept of education. The philosophy of educational influence in particular age categories (children and youth, adulthood, seniors). Social work as a tool of social pedagogy, the particularities of education in individual pedagogical sub-disciplines, the determinants of education in special pedagogy and social pedagogy, care, help, support, the particularities of educational process, a teacher as a social worker. The definition of social pathology, the typology of pathological behavior, the theory of the origin of the pathological behavior, the norm and normative system. The typology of addiction, prevention, resocialization versus the course of treatment of addiction, delinquency, the self-destructiveness, the sects. The function of a family when education and prevention are regarded, clinical families, the typology of clinical families.

Learning outcomes
The objective of the course is to introduce the students to the problems connected with the sociology of education and sociopathology.
The students will enhance their knowledge in the field of ethics for educators with regard to the students´ specialization.

Oral examination, Written examination

Seminar paper, the discussion about a chosen topic, a written test and an oral examination.
