Course content
Trends in pedagogical thinking and a deeper analysis of a chosen period. Pedagogy as a science. The structure of the disciplines and the aims. The problems of humanization of pedagogical thinking. The system of management of the school system in the Czech Republic. The trends in the institutionalization. The problem of liberalization of education. Social character of education. Socially critical theories in pedagogy. The development of the content of education. Current problems of curricular policy in the Czech Republic. The meaning of aims as key competences. Changing concept of individuality in history and its impact on pedagogical thinking. Social and psychological aspects of an individual. Innovation in education. The conception of the quality and its perception in education. Problems in the relationship between families and a school. Rights of parents and children. A family in the Czech Republic. Extracurricular pedagogy. A free time from the pedagogical point of view. Freedom and responsibility in education. Decision-making as a social act. The system of care of children in special needs in the Czech Republic. The trends in the care of the children in special needs. Value oriented society and its influence on the character of education. Alternative pedagogical movements and their meaning for society. Problems of sects and the marginalization of groups in society. Current problems in social pedagogy. The system of prevention and repression. The principles of professional counselling. Diagnostic methods in pedagogy. The methodology of quantitative and qualitative research.Social skills development as a goal of mutual understanding. Aggression, its forms, manifestations and management. Generational conflict and understanding. Conflicts and their possible solutions. Crisis situations and models of management. Deviant thought and action.

If the student obtained the first degree (BA) in other fields of humanities and the student was not specialized in pedagogy, the student is obliged to pass a comparative exam. The exam is to be passed during the second term at the latest. Požadavky na studenta: The comparative exam is supposed to be taken by the students who did not specialize in pedagogy during their first degree (BA) study.
The students will enhance their knowledge in the field of Comparative Examination with regard to the students´ specialization.
