Learning outcomes
The course has a theoretical and a closely related practical part. On the one hand, it serves to give students a basic orientation in the field of history, as they have to learn the stages of a historian's work and how and where to find sources of information and how to refer to these sources in a scholarly text. In doing so, the student is encouraged to take a critical approach to working with sources. At the same time, however, the course includes a semester-long project during which students put their theoretical knowledge into practice and their research in memory institutions will result in several concrete outputs that can then serve the public.
