Course content
The Renaissance - time definition, style characteristics, humanism. The Renaissance art in Italy - architecture, sculpture, painting. The Renaissance art beyond the Alps. The Renaissance in Bohemia and Moravia. Mannerism - art in the court of Emperor Rudolf II. Baroque - time definition, style characteristics, main European centers. Baroque art in southern and western Europe. Baroque art in Bohemia and Moravia. Classicism and Empire - time definition, style characteristics, examples. Romanticism in European plastic arts and painting. Czech art in the 19th century - architecture, sculpture, painting. Art Nouveau in Europe and the Czech countries. Czech modernism in the plastic arts and painting of the 20th century - painting, sculpture. Czech art between the World Wars.
