The aim of the course is to focus on both traditional and modern methods of analysing the information potential of basic types of documents forming the source base of research into regional history. The main emphasis is directed on the methodology of interpretation of written sources of a given type of domestic provenance from the Middle Ages to the most recent period and on acquiring practical skills in the editorial processing of written sources. In agreement with the instructor, the student will make a selection of a simple archival source (from the Middle Ages to the modern period) suitable for editorial processing on the basis of his/her own research. Under the guidance of the teacher, the student will prepare an appropriate form of an edition of the source (with regard to the chosen type of source) accompanied by its professional analysis. The final classification is determined on the basis of the quality of the submitted student work.
