Learning outcomes
|
The aim of this course is an interdisciplinary overview of the most important methods, used in the present historiography. Attention will be focused on the analysis of contemporary texts devoted to the methodology of historopgraphy and selected methods in social sciences and humanities. Students will be led to ability of understanding and interpretation of theoretical texts and modified use of gained conclusions in their own research projects.

Prerequisites
|
Basic familiarity with developments in humanities and social sciences (as philosophy, history, sociology, lingvistic) in the 20th century.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Work-related product analysis, Creative work analysis
Credit will be awarded for active participation in discussion and further analysis based on portfolios of student work. The student chooses two of the ten discussed approaches of writing about history, and will compose an essay about their use in the project of master's thesis. (Each topic min. 4 formated pages).
