Course content
Themes: Sources for the premodern gender history and the possibilities of their reading Ancient gender models and the filosophical reflection Jewish - Cristian tradition and innovations, mixing with the ancient culture. The transformation of the masculin and faminin roles in the family, church and law. Corporeality and different definition of the social roles. Marriage, social strategies and the material ensurance Life in the religious companies and illegal forms out of the marriage Gender and the court Premodern impulses, renaissance and its "return" to antiquity, humanistic ethos Men and women as the authors of the texts, as aducators Problematic features, excesses - confirmation of the gender stereotypes? The system of law

Learning outcomes
The Gender Roots in the Pre-Modern Era Students will get acquired with terminology and concepts of gender history of pre-modern era. They will work with sources as well as the literature to be able to deepen their concern in the topic. The lecture will include antiquity approaches together with medieval and premodern and will follow typological questions or historiography.
