Course content
Basic types of written sources of regional history. Possibilities of their exploitation and presentation in basic research. Sources of a property-legal nature. Secular and religious accounts of citizens. Chronicles, accounting documentation, the correspondence of concrete ordered works. A stress on mastering editing techniques in the form of a seminar paper.

Learning outcomes
The aim of this course is to focus on both traditional and modern methods of informative potential analysis of basic types of letters that represent the source base of regional history research. It introduces students to the basic tendencies in current country and foreign historiography, in connection with deeper interest in regional history in particular. The main stress is on methods of interpreting written sources of a particular country manufacture type from the Middle Ages till the most recent times - and furthermore, on acquiring practical skill for editing work with written sources.
Students will be met with basic trends of current national and foreign historiography, especially aiming at regional history.

Oral examination, Home assignment evaluation

Credit depends on attending the lessons (80 attendance is required), providing an oral abstract on a given topic connected with the presentation of source material samples of the specified type, and formulating a paper based on editing work with the chosen Medieval, Early Modern, or Modern written source.
