Course content
|
Introduction to the understanding the material building's culture Basic terminology for typological characteristics. Literature and aids (maps of stable land-registry). Rural buildings (farmsteads, cottages, hauses and their farm accessories). Municipal houses (medieval and younger, rental houses). Objects of urban amenities. Ecclesiastical buildings churches, monasteries. School and accomodation buildings. Residences of nobility - forts, castles, chateaus, stronghold buildings. Farm buildings - agricultural and industrial.

Learning outcomes
|
The getting to know the typological development of basic building types and districts of historic residential, ecclesiastical and farm buildings from the Middle Ages to the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.
The ability to identify and describe typical historical districts and objects in the towns, villages and landscape.
