Course content
The current state and perspectives on the history of aristocratic traveling of the Early Modern Period in Central Europe, or Is there any sense in dealing with this topic nowadays? Cavalier way of aristocracy of the Early Modern Period, or Complicated way to monograph this topic. Traveling of adult aristocrats, or ahic sunt leones? Outline of basic types of sources connected with the history of aristocratic traveling and their descriptive possibilities, or Creative work with sources. Selected European topic in the eyes of Central-European aristocrats, or Are ego-documents sources for the history of visited countries or rather for the history of their writer?

Learning outcomes
The aim of this course is to introduce students to aristocratic traveling from the 16th to the 18th centuries, as well as the basic typology of these travels (cavalier, diplomatic, pilgrim, official, curative, "Lustreise", and other). Students will learn the basic types of sources connected to the history of aristocratic traveling and their descriptive possibilities (letters, diaries, instructions, accounting material, monuments, and others).
Students will get knowledge of the basic types of resources to the history of noble travelling and will learn how to use them in writing an article or a book (letters, diaries, instructions, accounts, etc.).
