Course content
1st Block - Excursion to the Technological Laboratory of the National Gallery in Prague, Anežský Klášter - Tour of the instrumental equipment of the facility - possibilities of invasive and non-invasive examination - Concurrent expert presentation on the topic of painting examination and analysis - pigments and binders - Demonstrations of sample processing, archiving, and examination reports 2nd Block - Excursion to the National Library of the Czech Republic, Department of Library Fund Protection - Development and Research Laboratories Department - Restoration Department - Preventive Conservation Department 3rd Block - Lecture on a selected topic if additional time is available

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to introduce students to leading specialized institutions in the Czech Republic that focus on conservation and restoration technologies of objects relevant to their field of study. The excursions include expert presentations by specialists in the respective fields. The course broadens students' professional perspectives across disciplines and provides them with a comprehensive understanding of the possibilities, organization, equipment, and operations of these and related conservation-restoration institutions visited during the course. The course also includes lectures from external experts, who share current knowledge and practical experience from the field.
