Course content
Research, its forms and division, organizational forms in scientific communication, reviews of professional publications. Basics of probability. Basics of descriptive statistics, survey analysis. Point and interval estimation, hypothesis testing principle, correlation, contingency. Questionnaire surveys. Scales. Research preparation - searches, public databases, creation of questionnaires. Tables, graphs. Statistical file characteristics, survey analysis, point analysis and interval estimation, interpretation of results. Basics of working with the STATISTICA program. Processing of own data, preparation of semester work.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to gain knowledge from the field of upbringing and education of the person in such a way so that it provides a common view of pedagogy and scientific research that focuses on and is applicable to the specialty of the General Nurse and the Midwife. As part of the course, the students will prepare for their bachelor work.
The student will develop an idea about the fundamentals of education in today's societal context. The student will be able to understand the purpose of statistical reasoning and will master the basic techniques of statistical calculations using accessible statistical software. The student will start preparing his/her bachelor work.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written examination

Compliance with the mandatory 80% participation in the exercise. Compliance with the mandatory 50% participation in lectures. Elaboration of semestral work. Credit: written test (Moodle, Statistica) focused on the basics of statistics. Exam: written test (Moodle) focused on theoretical basics.
