Course content
Terminology and characteristics of basic types of surgical procedures and an overview and characteristics of operation approaches and techniques in urology. Topographic anatomy and function of organs operated on in urology. Pathophysiological conditions, their diagnosis and indications for surgical treatment in urology. Urinary tract surgery. Bladder surgery. Kidney surgery. Prostate surgery. Minimally invasive surgery in urology Perioperative care - specific aspects of individual surgical procedures in urology. Medical equipment, specific instrumentarium, implants, drugs and other medical devices, material and aids.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the specifics of the field of Urology, with issues of selected surgical diseases and their treatment.
Students will master anatomy, topographic anatomy, pathophysiology, diagnostics, treatment and principles of perioperative care in urology. Students will orientate themselves in surgical procedures in most frequent therapies in the field. Students are capable to provide nursing care in their role of a perioperative nurse/midwives. Students are aware of risks and crisis situations resulting from situations in operating rooms.

Fulfilment of compulsory 60 % attendance in lectures. Fulfilment of compulsory 80 % attendance in seminars. Written assignment.
