Course content
|
Illnesses of the GI tract. Illnesses of the breast gland. Obstructive abdominal emergencies, abdominal emergencies due to injuries, GI tract bleeding. Inflammatory abdominal emergencies. Surgical procedures on organs of the GI tract.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the study is to acquaint students with individual surgical subspecialties. It concerns head and neck surgery, neurosurgery, endocrinosurgery, thoracic surgery, abdominal surgery, cardiac surgery, vascular surgery, urology, traumatology, paediatric surgery, and plastic surgery.
The student knows symptoms of abdominal emergencies, their diagnostics and treatment, knows issues related preoperative preparation, postoperative monitoring, postoperative complications, knows issues related to the breast gland, and furthermore, he/she knows examination and diagnostic procedures in the above subspecialties.
