Course content
Principles of treatment of intoxication. Disorders of blood formation. Principles of treatment using blood derivatives. Care of patients in the ICU specializing in internal medicine. Acute conditions in endocrinology. Basic pharmacotherapy of internal diseases. Differential diagnostics of chest pain. Differential diagnostics of dyspnoea. Case studies addressed by students I. Case studies addressed by students II. Review - cardiology and pulmonology. Review - gastroenterology, diabetes, endocrinopathy, kidney diseases, and disorders of blood formation.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to gain knowledge of internal medicine, focused in pre-hospital diagnostics, treatment, and also on the differential diagnosis of emergencies in internal medicine.
The student knows the fundamentals of symptomatology, diagnostics, treatment, and principles of nursing care of patients with selected cardiovascular, respiratory, gastrointestinal, and metabolic diseases. As far as the practical skills are concerned, the student has good command of the procedures specified in the syllabus of practical exercises.

Oral examination, Home assignment evaluation, Student performance assessment, Didactic test

Completion of compulsory 50% attendance at the lectures. Completion of compulsory 85% attendance at the practicum sessions and seminars. Successful completion of an oral examination.
