Course content
Introduction to rehabilitation - definition of the field, the essence, and goal Rehabilitation nursing - the essence of breathing, breathing gymnastics, affecting posture Positioning - basic types and kinds. Basic locomotor functions - practice. Taking care of elimination - intestinal motility, urinary bladder. Fitness exercises. Therapeutic physical education in gynaecology. Therapeutic physical education in obstetrics. Positioning the patient. Breathing gymnastics. Fitness exercises. Basic motor functions - practice. Therapeutic physical education in conservative gynaecology. Therapeutic physical education in the preoperative and postoperative care. Therapeutic physical education in pregnancy. Therapeutic physical education in the postpartum period. Fundamentals of therapeutic physical education in infancy.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to acquaint students with the tasks of basic rehabilitation care in midwifery.
Students will gain skills and knowledge related to rehabilitation tasks utilized in the work of midwifes. They will use the gained skill in self-directed physical education in all age categories of the woman.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Written examination, Student performance assessment

Completion of compulsory 50% attendance at the lectures. Completion of compulsory 80% attendance at the practicum sessions and seminars. Successful completion of a written test or an oral examination according to the course guarantor's decision.
