Course content
Anatomy and physiology of the auditory analyzer. Symptomatology, diagnostics, and treatment of inflammation of the ear, nose, paranasal sinuses, the pharynx, and their complications. Symptomatology, diagnostics, and fundamentals of treatment of malignant tumours in ENT. Dyspnoea and causes of dyspnoea due to an occlusion of upper respiratory pathways. Tracheotomy and laryngectomy. Traumatology in ENT. Epistaxis. Introduction, notes on anatomy and physiology of the visual analyzer, basic disorders. Cataract, glaucoma, eye injuries. Ophtalmosurgery. Introduction to stomatology - division of the field, anatomy, physiology. Fundamentals of preservation stomatology, periodontology, prevention, prosthetics, orthodontics. Dentoalveolar surgery. Jaw surgery, orofacial traumatology, oncology. Anatomy and physiology of the skin. Classification of skin diseases. Photobiology. Skin diseases due to external causes. Care of the complexion. Dermatomycoses, allergic diseases. Veneral diseases.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to provide students with fundamental information from the following medical disciplines: otorhinolaryngology, stomatology, ophthalmology, and dermatology.
The student has fundamental knowledge of the individual medical disciplines and is able to use it in practice.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination

Completion of compulsory 80% attendance at the lectures. Completion of compulsory 80% attendance at the practicum sessions and seminars. Successful completion of an oral examination.
