Evidence based practice (EBP): introduction. Formulation of the clinical question. Searching for the best evidence. Critical evaluation of the evidence. Application of the evidence into clinical practice and evaluation of the impact. Sources of the scientific literature. Formulation of the clinical question. Literature search - identification of evidence. Quality of the identified evidence. Examples of application of the evidence into clinical practice and evaluation of the impact.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim is to provide basic information concerning the principles of evidence based nursing practice. The student is familiar with the basic sources of the literature relevant for evidence based nursing practice. He/she is able to formulate the basic clinical question and is able to identify relevant evidence in the practice and to evaluate its quality.
The student knows the procedure used to apply the identified evidence into practice and for evaluating the impact.

Credits are conferred based on compulsory 80% attendance at seminars and successful completion of a paper on a given topic.
