Course content
|
Law and public health (concept of law, formation of legal standards, relation of medicine and law). Public health and citizen, responsibility for execution of medical care. Legal problems of modern medicine (problems of human reproduction, taking of blood and organs, problems of resuscitation, experimental medicine). Occupational safety and health, labour law problems. Criminal law (failure to provide first aid, bodily harm caused by negligence, murder, euthanasia, threaten by sexual disease, illegal abortion). Definition and characteristics of basic terms. Historical resources of ethical problems. Basic ethical codes of medics (ethical problems of basic medical branches, problems of children´s branches, problems of midwifery and gynaecology). Thanatology and euthanasia. Actual problems in public health.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of this course is forming of character, intellectual and professional qualities necessary for profession in public health. This course contributes to creation of correct approach to oneself, other people and whole society. Law and legislation provide comprehensive overview of conditions for creation of several responsibility relations in health service.
Student can explain basic philosophic terms, orientates in philosophic and ethical problems related to his profession. Student orientates in basic questions of legal problems.

Oral exam. The fulfillment of compulsory 80% attendance at lectures, exercises and seminars.
