Course content
The term of toxicology and introduction into the subject. Absorption, distribution and metabolism of toxic chemical substances. Excretion of toxic chemical substances. Types of responses of organism to a toxic chemical substance and addictive drugs. Fundamentals of static biochemistry. Fundamentals of dynamic biochemistry. Fundamentals of clinical biochemistry. Toxicology of food and food additives, chemicals in agriculture. Toxicology of natural toxins a military toxicology. Analytic a forensic toxicology. Biochemistry of sugars. Biochemistry of lipids. Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquire basic knowledge for the provision of prehospital care in situations involving industrial accidents and intoxication by medications and chemicals.
The student knows and is able to practically manage fundamental biochemical processes in the human organism, fundamentals of general pharmacology and of selected parts of specialized pharmacology, fundamental issues associated with abuse of addictive substances, and providing first aid to intoxicated patients.

Oral examination

Compliance with a written knowledge test. Preparing and advocating a presentation on a given topic from the field of toxicology of natural substances and medicines.
