Course content
Introduction to the study, cell from a physiological point of view. Bodily fluids and blood, composition of the blood, significance, regulation of extracellular fluid volumes. Principles of origin and conduction of excitation, contraction of muscle. Cardiovascular system. Respiratory system. Endocrine system. Physiology of digestion and absorption.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to acquaint students with physiological functions of tissues, organs and mechanisms which apply in their control and homeostatic maintenance. Clinical nutrition is focused on metabolic changes in starvation, the role of nutrition on origin of civilization diseases, dietary guidelines and special procedures in applying artificial nutrition.
Students have theoretical knowledge of functions and regulations of individual systems, including essential nomenclature. Students are able to deduce manifestations of their disorders and causes of functional changes of the organism.
