Introduction-direction, definitions, branches. Research methods and techniques in psychology. Phylogenic development of the nervous system, basic nervous processes. Signal systems, reflex activity of the higher nervous system. Consciousness, lack of consciousness. Basic psychological processes-sensation and perception. Attention, memory. Imagination and fantasy. Thinking and speech. Thinking and problem-solving. Thought disorders. Speech. Emotions Emotional disorders. Activation agents-motivation. Needs. Attitude. Volitionary action-will. Personality. Stressful situations and their management. Communication in health care. Fear, anxiety.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to provide students with basic information from the area of general and developmental psychology, to acquaint them with the principle of personality with emphasis on patient personality.
The student is able to explain the position of psychology as science in the system of social sciences, is able to analyze psychological activities, processes and states and their disorders. Through knowledge of their own personality, they will be able to understand other people better. The student understands the differences of human psyche in individual stages of development. He is able to use basic techniques of management of stressful situations.

Completion of compulsory 80% attendance at the practicum sessions and seminars.
