Course content
|
Introduction to the study of the subject, basic concepts of the theory of law. Basic documents of the EU, primary and secondary law. The Charter of Fundamental Rights of the EU. Basic concepts of constitutional law, the Constitution, the Charter of Fundamental Rights and Freedoms. Civil law, concept, subject, sources, and parties in a civil case. Protection of personality and compensation for damage. Counting time, property rights, joint property of spouses, and inheritance law. Law of obligations. Labour law, concept, subject, and sources. Labour relations and dependent work. Mediation, out of court settlement, and arbitration. Judicial system of the Czech Republic and providing legal assistance. Basic concepts of business law and insolvency proceedings. Administrative law, concept, subject, sources, and acts. Administrative proceedings. The parties in the first instance, appeals, and extraordinary remedies. Basic concepts of review of an administrative decision by the court and constitutional complaint. Administrative and judicial execution. Social security law, concept, subject, sources, information sources, and authorities.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to acquaint students comprehensively with basic issues of private, public, medical, family, and criminal law to such extend that they are able to apply the acquired knowledge in their practice of a social and health worker.
Students know the issue in the scope of the syllabus of lectures and practicum sessions and apply their knowledge to practical activities of the health and social worker.

80 % active participation in seminars. Working out and presenting 2 assigned tasks. Processing of filing a motion with a court or with a public administration body.
