Course content
Specifics of communication with clients at different developmental stages. Communication with clients with different types of disabilities. Disorders in interpersonal communication, communication with problematic individuals. Intercultural communication. Communication with clients with grave illness, with the dying, with the bereaved. Conflict resolution and training in problem-solving communication strategies. Practicing the specifics of communication with a child, adult, senior. Practicing the specifics of communicating with a client with different types of disabilities. Practicing the specifics of communicating with problematic individuals. Intercultural communication problems, means to facilitate intercultural communication. Practicing the specifics of communication with a client with a grave illness, with a dying person, with a bereaved person.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to provide students with basic information about the nature of interpersonal communication with a focus on its use in relation to clients of health and social services. By completing the course, students should acquire not only the required content of theoretical knowledge, but also communication skills that will enable them to act professionally in a variety of situations when working with clients and their loved ones.
Students apply the knowledge and experience gained in lectures and seminars to practice, they are able to communicate with people of all ages and with problematic individuals. Students are able to resolve conflicts and problems using assertive techniques. They use alternative and augmentative communication techniques in practice.
