Course content
The definition of human communication and the influence of individual experience and personality factors on communication. Verbal communication (content, form, phases, dialogue types) Theory of communication. Disorders in interpersonal communication, communication with problem types of individuals. Intercultural communication. Communicating with a client with a serious illness, with a dying, with survivors. Conflict resolution and the practice of problematic communications strategies. Training the specifics of communicating with a child, an adult, a senior. Training the specifics of communicating with a client with a different type of disability. Training specifics of communication with problem types of individuals. Intercultural communication problems, means of facilitating intercultural communication. Training the specifics of communicating with a client with a serious illness, with a dying, with a survivor.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming), Skills training, Stimulating activities (simulation, games, drama)
Learning outcomes
The aim is to provide students with basic information on the nature of interpersonal communication, focusing on its use when dealing with clients in health services. Upon completion of the subject, students should have acquired not only the required content of theoretical knowledge, but also communication skills that will enable them to behave professionally in various situations while working with clients and their loved ones.
The student practically applies knowledge and experience gained in lectures and the practicum. The student manages to communicate with people in various age groups as well as to communicate with problem types of individuals. The student is able to solve conflicts and problems with an assistance of assertive techniques.

Compliance with the mandatory 80% participation in exercises, activity in exercises, processing of work commissioned. Compliance with the mandatory 80% participation in lectures. Compliance with a written test or oral test as decided by the subject guarantor.
