Course content

IIntroduction to the field of pathology, work on pathological-anatomical separation, principles of work with bioptic material. Causes of disease, prevention, etiopatogenesis of disease. Regressive and metabolic changes, inflammation, necrosis, gangrene, atrophy. inflammation General signs of inflammation. Inflammation non-specific and specific. Progressive changes, regeneration, reparations, hypertrophy, hyperplasia, dysplasia, transplantation. Cardiovascular pathology. Diseases of the heart and blood vessels. Diseases of the endocardium, myocardium and pericardium. Fluid defects. Ischemic heart disease and its forms. Hypertension and its manifestations. Pulmonary circulation pathology. Local and general cardiovascular disorders. Respiratory system pathology. Nose, paranasal sinuses, nasopharynx. The larynx and the trachea. lungs Pleura. Kidney and urinary duct pathology. Nervous system pathology. Ischemic CNS changes, intracranial haemorrhage, brain oedema, inflammation, tumors. Pathology of the female and male sex systems. Breast gland pathology.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the subject is to provide basic information about causes of origin and development of diseases, and explain their morphological manifestations.
Students understand etiopathogenesis of diseases, distinguish disorders and changes on the level of cells, tissues, individual organs, and organism as a whole.
