Course content
General pharmacology - introduction. Drugs affecting CNS, ANS. Drugs affecting pain, fever, inflammation, heart, blood vessels. Drugs affecting blood, metabolism, respiratory system. Drugs affecting GIT and urogenital apparatus. Drugs affecting the immune system, endocrine system and antimicrobials. Work with the list of drugs. Practicing Pharmacological Context - pharmacological Groups. Practicing Pharmacological Context - indications. Practising Pharmacological Context - adverse effects. Practising Pharmacological Context - contraindications. Practising Pharmacological Context - drug interactions.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to explain to students the principles of laboratory diagnostics and to acquaint them with the laboratory manual, to provide students with basic information from general pharmacology and to acquaint them with the most important groups of medications used in medicine.
The student understands the spectrum of laboratory examinations and their significance for establishing the diagnosis, determining the prognosis, and monitoring the effectiveness of treatment. Students are well-versed in the most important medication groups, know the effects of selected medications on the organism, and are able to work with the List of medicines and to use it in their practice.
