Course content
|
Disturbances in interpersonal communication, communication with problematic types of individuals. Communication with clients with a serious disease, the dying, and surviving family members. Intercultural communication. Special features of communication with clients in different developmental stages. Communication in selected clinical areas. Intercultural communication problems, the means to facilitate intercultural communication. Interdisciplinary communication.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to provide the students with the basic information about the nature of interpersonal communication, focusing on its using in relation to clients of healthcare services. By completing the course students should acquire not only the required content of theoretical knowledge, but also communication skills, enabling him/ her to professional conduct in various situations in working with clients and their loved ones.
Student applies his/ her knowledge and experience gained during lectures and seminars into practice, Student manages to communicate with people in different age periods as well as the communication with problematic types of individuals. Student can solve conflicts and problems using assertive techniques.
