Course content
Psychology in health care, psychological issues of health care environment, specifics of clinical disciplines. Personality of a health care worker, specifics of helping professions, needs, sources of power, development period, stress, moral distress, burn-out syndrome, supervision. Human-oriented approach, empathy, congruence, active listening. Psychology of health and illness, quality of life, psychosomatic relationships.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to become familiar with the issue of health psychology from the professional perspective of the midwife and to know and apply the specifics of the nursing process in patients with gynaecological and obstetrical problems.
Students will be able to use detailed theoretical and practical knowledge of the field, they will master the methods in a complex and specialized field. They will be able to form an opinion based on ethical and social questions arising during the midwife's work.

Completion of compulsory 70% attendance at the lectures. Successful completion of a written test.
