Course content
|
The concept of the person, meaning of his life, understanding of death, funeral rituals: In religions arising from Indian spiritual traditions (Buddhism, Hinduism). Judaism. Islam. Christianity. Excurcus: The religious situation in the Czech Republic.

Learning outcomes
|
The objective of this course are different undarstanding and conceptions of dying and death in major religious traditions. The student is prepared to react to individual spiritual needs of the dying person. He/she understands the issue of dying, death, and burying rituals using a global view of the person and his life and his journey towards a final aim.

Students must prove their knowledge of lectured topics. Work with the literature according the requirements, which will be specified during the first lecture.
