Course content
Professional practice is focused on outpatient care, care of pregnant women in midwifery and women with high-risk pregnancy, care in delivery rooms and care in the puerperium, care of newborn in the neonatal units, care in the gynaecological departments, including operating rooms, and care in women's own social environment. Teaching takes place in hospital facilities, private surgeries, and in the workplaces of private midwives. Teaching takes place under the guidance of an academic staff member of the Faculty of Health Studies or a mentor / supervisor of the professional practice. The procedures performed during the professional practice are recorded into the "Record book of professional activities, care and education in midwifery". Learning outcomes
The aim of professional practice is to acquire practical experience from real practice, which are important for professional development and understanding of the differences in meeting the needs of gynecology sick women, physiological, risk and pathological pregnant women, maternal and women in puerperium. The course is designed as a practical subject and it takes place in a form of block scheduling for at least 1 week in total.
Students will become familiar with the care structure in midwifery, with the various forms of care and assistance in the outpatient, one day, inpatient and home health services, particularly with the organisation of health services under the care of the woman and the child. They learn basic skills in midwifery.

Fulfilment of specific procedures and processes in midwifery and contained in the "Record book of professional activities, care and education in midwifery". Credit in the 1st year - 100% active participation in the professional practice - written evaluation of the professional practice by the mentor - written reflection of students
