Course content
Professional practice is focused on outpatient care, care in the delivery room and in the postpartum period, care in a midwifery practice of pregnant women with risk pregnancy, care of the newborn at the neonatal unit, care in the gynecology department, including operating rooms, care in a woman's own social environment. Teaching takes place in hospitals, private offices, private midwives workplaces, counselling centres and workplaces of health education aimed at the care of the woman and the child. Teaching takes place under the guidance of an academic staff member of the Faculty of Health Studies or a mentor / supervisor of the professional practice. Performances, that are carried out at professional practice are recorded in the "Notebook of performances and other professional activities in midwifery". Learning outcomes
The aim of professional practice is to acquire practical experience from real practice, which are important for professional development and understanding of the differences in meeting the needs of gynecology sick women, physiological, risk and pathological pregnant women, maternal and women in puerperium. The subject is designed as a practical course and it takes place in the form of block teaching for at least one week in total.
Students will become familiar with the care structure in midwifery, with the various forms of care and assistance in the outpatient, one day, inpatient and home health services, particularly with the organisation of health services under the care of the woman and the child. They will learn basic skills in midwifery.

100% active presence in professional training fulfilment The fulfilment of stated practices and procedures in midwifery, recorded in the "Notebook of performances and other professional activities in midwifery". Student´s written reflection fulfilment according to course guarantor decision.
