Course content
Introduction to the subject, definition of social pathology. Standards and social deviation, theory and social deviation. Negative family influences. CAN syndrome (child abuse and neglect). Substitute family care and institutional education. Domestic violence. Addictive behaviour. Homelessness. People providing sexual services. Sexual deviation. Problems with crime and their solution. Extremist movement. Sects and sectarianism. Introduction - discussion on a given topic, analysis of the current situation. Solution of the CAN syndrome - social and legal protection of children. Consultancy to victims of domestic violence. Visiting a facility for dependants. Consultancy to people providing sexual services. Consultancy to homeless people. A documentary about sects.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to acquaint students with the issue of socially pathological phenomena in the society.
Students know the basic terminology of the scientific discipline, bio-psycho-sociological theories of the development of social deviance and their mutual interactions. They are well versed in the issue of specific socially pathological phenomena, that is, in the area of behaviour and conduct disrupting and threating social functioning of individuals, groups, and the society.
