Course content
Sexuality of women in individual periods of life. Sexual deviation. Menopause. Planned parenthood and contraception. Fertility disorders in women and men. Methods of assisted reproduction. Ethical and legal issues related to assisted reproduction and adoption. The organization and system of work in the gynaecology clinic. Health education activities in terms of family planning. Methodology of sex education. Methodology of application of contraceptive methods. Special features of gynaecological examination of children. Health education activities of the midwife in the outpatient paediatric gynaecology clinic. Nursing care of children and adolescents with a gynaecological condition. The participation of midwives in the methods used to investigate infertility couples. Nursing care of women with hyperstimulation syndrome. Excursion - Centre for Assisted Reproduction.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the issue of sterile marriages, with modern methods of infertility treatments, and next, with gynaecological problems in children and adolescents. The course builds on the knowledge of anatomy, physiology (endocrinology), and also on the general knowledge of gynaecology, psychology, and ethics.
Students will acquire knowledge in the area of endocrinology, especially as it relates to the reproductive organs. Students will acquire the skill to implement nursing care using the nursing process in primary care, especially in girls with a gynaecological illness and in an examination of a sterile couple.

Oral examination, Home assignment evaluation

Completion of compulsory 80% attendance at the lectures. Completion of compulsory 80% attendance at the practicum sessions and seminars. Completing assigned written work (development and defence - seminar work, presentation, group work, model nursing plan, educational material, case study). Successful completion as determined by the guarantor.
