Irregularities in the birth canal. Disorders of the pushing forces. Induction of labour. Premature leakage of amniotic fluid. Irregular foetal position and presentation. Shoulder dystocia. Irregularities in the 3rd stage of labour. Obstetric operations - in connection with childbirth. Infections during labour and delivery. Pathological postpartum.

The aim of the subject is to acquaint students with irregularities and complications during childbirth and the postpartum period. The curriculum builds on the presented themes in Obstetrics and Gynaecology subjects.
Students are able to use their theoretical and practical knowledge and skills during the management of an abnormal labour and delivery, during interventions and a general nursing care of the woman's individual needs arising in the course of an abnormal labour and delivery, during labour and delivery concluded by an obstetrical surgery, and during invasive procedures performed in the course of labour and delivery. |
