Course content
|
Providing nursing care based on identified needs or problems identified in cooperation with the pregnant woman and the expectant mother. Planning nursing interventions and their implementation in the existing environment and in collaboration with clients. Implementation of individualized nursing care of the physiological newborn, using the nursing process. Taking into account the special features of the newborn period while implementing nursing care. Internship placement: - delivery room - neonatal unit - inpatient nursing unit for high-risk and pathological pregnancies - institution providing primary midwifery care Instruction takes place in hospitals, clinics, private clinics, counselling centres, and in centres providing health education, which are accredited to provide practical midwifery training. Classes are led by a faculty member or a mentor / practical teacher. Procedures performed during the internship are recorded in the "Log of midwifery procedures and other professional activities". Instruction is based on compliance with all laws and safety standards during work done by women, including health preservation while conducting professional practice.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to gain knowledge about work organization in individual types of health care institutions and to apply gained knowledge and skills in clinical practice settings.
The student will master nursing procedures and functions according to the standards. The student seeks out and meets the needs of the clients based on an active and individualized nursing care, which is implemented using the nursing process method. The student participates in health care team collaboration and respects and adheres to the valid laws and standards.

It is compulsory to complete 100% attendance in the internship. It is compulsory to complete the determined procedures and nursing processes. Completing assigned written work.
