This course introduces students to the regional economy and the subject of investigation. It mainly deals with the measurement of regional flows (inputs /outputs), regional growth and its determinants. Likewise it conceives regions as part of the national and international economy. It draws attention to regional policy and its instruments which can be used for the removal of disparities and to promote regional competitiveness. Students will gain an overview of the regional economy as an integral and essential part of the economy of any modern state. They will have an overview of tools that can be used to promote competitiveness and creating the output of the regional economy.
