Socio - economic disparities, national and EU level; (GDP and other figures etc.) Regions - classification, theoretical concepts, EU concept of regions lagging behind and regions with structural problems Historical Development of EU Regional Policy Principles and Objectives of Economic and Social Cohesion as established in the Founding Treaties Regional Policy vis-á-vis other EU Policies Financial Instruments: Structural and Cohesion Funds Operational Programmes, programme supplements and other documents Preparation phase done by a member state, programme management and institutional backing, negotiations with, and approval by the European Commission Designing regional development projects

By addressing various EU regional policy questions concerning e.g. regional disparities, structural fund mechanisms, subsidiarity principle, regional development initiatives, etc. EUREP provides students with useful insights into how the socio-economic, legal and institutional processes interplay within the overall process of European integration.
