Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to enable students to the various issues concerning the forms, origins and structure of social inequalities in contemporary societies, and to analyze the intended and unintended ways in which welfare states affect these social inequalities. Students will be able: to understand socio-economic inequalities and effects to alleviate their consequences, the effects of welfare states diversity; to analyse how welfare states came about, which sociological, economic and political factors were responsible for their emergence.
