Course content
Regional economics as theoretic fundament of regional policy. Spatial structures. Localization of company, localization factors, localization decision. Interaction of localities. Influence of cities and city systems on regional development. Regional disparities and their measuring. Region and determinants of its development., regional competitivness. Conceptual approaches to regional development. Cluster approach and cluster initiatives New economic geography. Regional innovation system Lerning regions. Regional aspects of ITC Regional managemenet and marketing Regional economic policy. Regional structure and system of regional policy in the Czech Republic

The aim of the course is to deepen knowledge of regional economics and policy, with respect to a suitable combination of classical sources and the newest knowledge in three basic fields: the location theory, the theory of regional development and modern trends in regional and urban policies.
