Socio - economic disparities, national and EU level; (GDP and other figures etc.) Regions - classification, theoretical concepts, EU concept of regions lagging behind and regions with structural problems Historical Development of EU Regional Policy Principles and Objectives of Economic and Social Cohesion as established in the Founding Treaties Regional Policy vis-á-vis other EU Policies Financial Instruments: Structural and Cohesion Funds Operational Programmes, programme supplements and other documents Preparation phase done by a member state, programme management and institutional backing, negotiations with, and approval by the European Commission Designing regional development projects

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to deepen knowledge from the field of the European regional policy, institutions of the European Uion and policy creation in the fundamental areas: the role of regions in the EU law directives, the cohesion EU policy, the strategy of the smart specialization.
