Contemporary standard microeconomics (mainstream) paradigm, methodology, development and reflection in economic and political practice. Rationality in consumer behavior and its development trends. Model of perfect competition. Imperfect competition in the conditions of the Czech economy. Labor market and development trends in connection with globalization processes. New manifestations of market failure and their solutions. An alternative theory of consumption and savings. More advanced investment analysis. Money demand and money supply in the context of contemporary economic theory. Aggregate demand in an open economy and principles of operation of an open economy. Monetarist concept of influencing the exchange rate. International adjustment and interrelationships of economies.

The aim of the subject is to raise the level of students' economic thinking, to familiarize them with the latest findings in the field of microeconomic and macroeconomic theory (in the context of their professional focus) and to deepen the ability to apply economic theory to economic practice.
