Course content
Principles of financial management in general and in the implementation of cohesion policy. Traditional and alternative financing, their combination. Efficiency in the public and private sectors. Leverage and sensitivity in financial management. Encouraging growth and its causal analysis. Financial instruments as a catalyst for public and private resources. Development of rules for cohesion policy financial instruments and models for the implementation of financial instruments. Credit financial instruments, guarantees, capital inputs.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to deepen knowledge from the field of financial management in a general enterprise concept with extension of financial management specifics using ESIF to finance goals of the cohesion EU policy with the emphasis on financial instruments (their importance, development, models of implementation and categorization). The course is also oriented towards gaining the ability to evaluate impacts of the leverage effects, to learn the causal analysis of encouraging growth and to measure efficiency using different approaches.
The student will demonstrate the ability to independently develop the topic(s), present them convincingly and argue them in discussion. The student will be able to respond and argue at an appropriate level in a professional dialogue within the scope of the topics covered.

The student will prepare a written professional essay on a given topic, the extract of which will be publishable in a peer-reviewed journal. Oral examination.
