Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to meet PhD students with atributes of scientific research, principles of scientific work and its ethics. The course also includes a presentation of sciometric techniques and relevant databases, incl. work with them.
A student who has successfully completed the course can: explain the essence of a scientific problem, its definition and the need to objectively reveal its essence, characterize basic scientific methods, the essence of scientific work, describe the principles of scientific work, the sequence of individual steps of critical reflection on a scientific problem. explain how it will proceed in solving a certain scientific problem, explain and justify the choice of appropriate scientific methods and possible overcoming obstacles in scientific work. A student who has successfully completed the course will be able to: to propose an appropriate scientific method on the basis of knowledge, to design the publication procedure so that it meets the ethical requirements imposed on scientific work, list the problems it may encounter and suggest solutions, assess the publishing strategy, including the suitability of the journal / conference for publication in accordance with the needs of the ISP and the faculty. A student who has successfully completed the course is able to: independently and responsibly define a scientific problem, describe it and propose a solution procedure, decide on the application of the relevant scientific method, or the application of the methodological design of the solution, define assignments for collaborating co-authors who are involved in solving a scientific problem. communicate their own expert opinions clearly and convincingly to experts and the general public.

Attendance at lectures, submission of ongoing tasks assigned by the teacher. Exam: submission and acceptance of the journal publication output according to the teacher's assignment.
