Course content
Lectured topics: General principles, science and scientificity, obtaining information from the WWW (ISI, Scopus, Google scholar, etc.). Ethics of scientific work, scientific knowledge, science as a complex cognitive system. Research (quantitative, qualitative). Methodology, scientific method, methodology, scientific thinking-history, logic. Influence of philosophy on the ways of forming scientific methodology, logical positivism and empiricism. Characteristics of science, consistency, scientific research and its methods. General characteristics of methods, science, information, management, European dimension of national research policy. Structure and style of creating a scientific publication, working with publication sources, software tools, citations. Selection of appropriate publication media (metrics for assessing the quality and impact of a publication, quality conferences and forms of their evaluation, basics of scientometrics). Processes used in publication media (review process, working with peer reviews). Creation of presentations (conference papers, requested lectures, etc.) and principles of their delivery, rhetoric. Scientific conference as a means of international scientific cooperation.

The aim of the course is to familiarize doctoral students with the attributes of scientific research, the principles of scientific work and its ethics.

Discussion

Processing and submitting assignments assigned by the teacher. Submission of documents proving submission of a research article to the journal Jimp or Jsc.
