Content: Lectures 1. Specific functions and disorders of sexual organs (2 hours) 2. Gynaecological examinations (1 hour) 3. Developmental abnormalities and deviations of genital organs (1 hour) 4. Infections of the genital organs (1 hour) 5. Genital tumours (1 hour) 6. Maternal education (1 hour) 7. Contraception (1 hour) 8. Assisted reproduction (2 hours) Practice and Seminars Nursing process for women with inflammatory diseases (2 hour) Nursing process for women after gynaecological surgery (3 hours)

Learning outcomes
Aims and Competencies: The aim of the course is to acquaint students with selected areas of nursing and midwifery care in gynaecology and obstetrics. Students will study in theory and practice, how to care for patients with selected conditions and illnesses in the area of gynaecology and obstetrics. The gynaecology section aims to introduce students to the field of gynaecology, particularly the physiology of the female reproductive system and disorders of the genital organs. The obstetrics section focuses on the physiology of pregnancy, childbirth, the postpartum period, high-risk pregnancies, obstetric operations, and maternal education, including planned parenthood. Students will become familiar with modern diagnostic methods, the organization of care for women, and the diagnosis and treatment of diseases affecting the genital organs, along with nursing care for pregnant women. Assessment Methods: The exam is based on a written test and on submission of an essay.
Students will study in theory and practice, how to care for patients with selected conditions and illnesses in the area of gyanecology and obstetrics.
