Course content
|
150 h of practicum + 15 h self-study General content of the individual internship course: Procedures in midwifery in the Czech Republic. Becoming familiar with the system of primary, secondary, and tertiary care. Becoming familiar with valid regulations and norms in a given institution. Applying procedures in midwifery and principles to the care of healthy and ill woman, pregnant woman and new born. The process in midwifery - reflection.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to gain experience from the clinical practice, which will enable the student to perceive cultural differences in meeting the needs of women, pregnant women and new borns.
The student will complete his/her internship in workplaces that correspond to their specialization, will learn about the health care system in the Czech Republic, will become acquainted with standards and valid regulations for the provision of midwifery care, and will be able to assess and critically evaluate cultural similarities and differences in midwifery.

Assessment methods and criteria

The assignment is conferred based on a confirmed 100% attendance at the internship, an evaluation by the mentor, a written reflection by the student, and a presentation of two case studies.
