Course content
Microbial cell (structure, function, genetic material). Resistance of microorganisms (forms, emergence, testing methods). Sensitivity testing of microorganisms - phenotypic methods (diffusion, dilution and microdilution tests according to standards). Sensitivity testing of microorganisms - genotypic methods. Current trends in instrumentation and evaluation of testing results.

Learning outcomes
The course introduces students to knowledge in the field of microbial resistance as well as experimental approaches to evaluating the degree of resistance of a given microbial strain.
