Learning outcomes
|
The course provides for the extension of specialized terminology in the selected study field and the acquisition of corresponding language skills and sub-skills applied in specific language (speaking and writing, listening and reading of specialized literature with comprehension). The course reflects the selected topics related to the dissertation. Starting level B2.
Upon a successful completion of the course, the student uses the language effectively and independently in complex, professionally oriented situations and is able to work independently with specialized, field oriented literature. Target level B2+.

Prerequisites
|
Communicative competence: CEFR B2 in general German and in ESP.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Oral examination
Seminary paper: complex analysis of a selected text relevant to the thesis, glossary of relevant terminology. The students will complete the course by presenting a paper on a specific topic related to their dissertation at a mock scientific conference. The presentation will be followed by a discussion participated by faculty members and colleagues and has a .ppt format.
